“A Bright Blue Future in Africa“, is the theme under which we plan to organise the second edition of our forum dedicated to the blue economy in Africa. This year, we are looking to go beyond what we achieved in our first edition and help stimulate the growth and development of the blue economy on the African continent.
Africa, with its vast coastlines and rich marine resources, offers immeasurable potential for the blue economy. However, to fully exploit this potential, it is essential to bring together key stakeholders, share knowledge and foster collaboration between governments, businesses, civil society and the academic community. This is precisely what Maritimafrica Week Togo aims to achieve.
The current context is highly conducive to serious reflection and action in favour of the blue economy in Africa. The challenges we face, such as climate change, food security, job creation and environmental sustainability, require innovative and holistic solutions. The blue economy offers a promising response to all these challenges.
Like the first edition, Maritimafrica Week Togo aims to be an annual event that brings together all the sectoral players in the blue economy in Africa and their partners in other parts of the world, to discuss the major issues and challenges facing the sector. It is intended as a platform for exchanging and sharing innovative ideas and best practices, to enable each player to participate at its own level in the development of the Blue Economy in Africa.
Maritimafrica Week Togo will feature an exhibition, conferences and seminars (online and face-to-face), discovery tours of Togo’s maritime infrastructures and blue economy, and B-to-B meetings. It aims to position itself as an unmissable hybrid annual crossroads (on site and online) for all players in the sector throughout Africa, and a chance to discover Togo’s advances and achievements before, during and after the event.
